Tracy Coogan to Star in “Dark Woods”
Tracy Coogan (Zombie Honeymoon), who was part of British writer/director Jake Kennedy’s latest indie movie The Devil’s Dungeon, is now in pre-production for the feature film Dark Woods, where she will star as the lead character.
Dark Woods is a mystery thriller written by John Muscarnero and directed by Mike Escobedo. The story follows a couple who moves to a secluded cabin in the woods to cope with a terminal illness of the wife.
As the wife’s condition drags her deeper into dementia and darkness, the husband’s friendship with a local teenage girl takes a dangerous and obsessive turn. The emotional feel will be something like Swimming Pool, We Don’t Live Here Anymore or Roman Polanski’s Repulsion. Dark Woods has a strong European influence, along with some David Lynch thrown in the mix.
Nom De Plume Films LLC, is shooting the feature film this winter in and around Los Angeles.
