Support Women Horror Directors!

Reposted for Heidi Martinuzzi of Pretty/Scary…

While 17% of the U.S. Senate is made up of women, only 7% of all film directors are female. Out of that 7%, an even smaller number represents the women struggling to make genre films in an environment that doesn’t support women in the horror industry as anything other than actresses.

I’m sure by now you’ve heard that there’s a new site endorsed by Steven Spielberg called OnTheLot.com where you can upload your film and enter to win a huge budget of some kind to make your dream film. Uploaded films are viewed by visitors who can leave comments and rate the films. The films that get the most votes are most likely to end up as finalists. Don’t miss this opportunity to vote for women with horror films or trailers that are now on OnTheLot and entered in competition. This is a great chance to show some real and effective support for female horror film directors.

Pretty/Scary urges you to visit the site now and vote for a female horror film director’s entry. We’ve created a list of all the entries and hope you’ll take the time to make a difference with some real action!
