Shannon Lark Departs Living Dead Girlz

Shannon Lark for Coffin CaseSan Francisco, CA – November 6, 2008 – Shannon Lark , CEO of The Chainsaw Mafia and Fangoria’s 2009 Spooksmodel, hasĀ  resigned from her role as Manager and Gore Wrangler of the zombie dance troupe The Living Dead Girlz. Lark will be making personal appearances throughout 2009 representing FANGORIA Magazine, and has also chosen to focus on numerous upcoming projects that will allow her to continue to grow as an actor and filmmaker.

Dubbed “San Francisco’s Gore Gore Girl,” Shannon Lark has created The Chainsaw Mafia, a film production company and a free networking site facilitated toward horror fans and filmmakers. Lark is a writer, producer, director, actress, and recently Fangoria’s first ever 2009 ‘Spooksmodel.’ She will be attending all 2009 Weekend of Horror Conventions, and in addition will be unveiling her very old chainsaw wielding solo performances at the scheduled events.

Lark is also director of the Viscera Film Festival, dedicated to female horror filmmakers which she created back in 2006. The mission of the Viscera Film Festival is to give recognition through participating sponsors, awards, and distribution for today’s female horror filmmakers making a difference in the genre.

Viscera accepts any films that showcase women in major roles of production (i.e. writer, director, and producer). There is also the coveted “Viscera Award” offering a monetary award to the winning film involving female only productions. There are NO ENTRY FEES, and submissions close on December 31, 2008. For more information please visit www.thechainsawmafia.com.

In honor of Shannon and the Living Dead Girlz, here’s my favorite video from them, the “Shoes” parody “Brains!”:
