Camp – a short story by Jeremy C. Shipp
By Fatally Yours
I had the pleasure of reading Jeremy C. Shipp’s short horror story Camp earlier this week.
I usually don’t feature or review books, but this story stuck with me so much that I felt I had to share it’s gruesome goodness…
I was so impressed with Shipp’s writing that I plan on ordering his debut full-length novel, Vacation.
I highly recommend you check out the short horror story Camp (check it out for free on ChiZine!), for something a little different and definitely disturbing!!
Here are a few blurbs of what people said about Camp:
“Told in first person, Jeremy pulls no punches with quick, savvy lines delivered to shock and repulse…. Not for the squeamish, Camp fits into ChiZine nicely.”
–HorrorScope
“The author exudes a fine talent for structure and flow, building a collection of characters that is at once believable, unbelievable, and disturbing. He also throws in what has to be the most gut churning line I’ve read recently as casually as a player tossing ante into a nickel poker game.”
–Tangent Online
I’m so looking forward to reading his Vacation…he writes like he could be the next Chuck Palahniuk!
